Cultural Heritage
Interactive computer graphics allow viewers to become a protagonist who can experience content in an interactive and exploratory way. This makes virtual exhibits very attractive to a wide audience, distinguishes them from the mass of other multimedia installations and thus makes them a magnet for the public.

Museums and galleries, curators and artists, they all - with increasing success - make use of digital technologies for collecting, preserving, exploring, and conveying art and human culture. Digital technologies are used for a virtual reconstruction of architectural monuments. They also can effectively support the simulation of historical work techniques and the scientific work of art historians, archaeologists, historians, or restorers.
Museums present themselves in the internet. By means of a simple mouse-click the »cyberspace« museum visitor can get a multimedia visualization of special historical, art, archaeological, or engineering issues composed of video and sound documents, images, and text. Besides, virtual exhibits, edutainment, digital preservation, and digital archives are important application areas for digital technologies in the context of cultural heritage preservation. Furthermore, multimedia presentations are an excellent instrument for marketing purposes or acquisition of sponsors.
